Project Management

Implementation and employment of project management practices provides significant value to organizations

Based on ten years of experience in the private and public sectors we can state that the implementation and employment of project management tools provide significant value to organizations. Organizations are able to achieve significant improvements in financial and business performance, customer satisfaction, project/process indicators, and in measurements in the areas of knowledge management, learning and development.

This is supported by surveys and analyses published these last few years. The Center for Business Practices (USA), the consulting and training organization, the research branch of Project Management Solutions, Inc., among many others, executed a survey among more than 100 top managers active in the area of project management. More than 94% of respondents agreed that the implementation of project management practices provided value to their organization.

Our Project Management Approach

Projects are an effective method and approach for certain type of problem solving tasks. The essence of the method is to consciously define, structure and plan the solution with a necessary level of thoroughness following a rational and practical process before starting the execution of the task. Project management is a set of tools mainly based on practical experience that we can use in the execution of project tasks.

Whether a problem should be solved within a project depends on the problem’s nature. In certain cases a project is the specifically suitable and suggested tool, in other cases the approach can be more useful.

Szinergia’s project management methodology pays special attention to the balance between the methodological (hard) and human (soft) dimensions of the project management process. Based on our experience, the success of a project depends largely on the people working in it. It is of utter importance to ensure the stakeholders’ and project members’ involvement and engagement in the project, and the management of all those affected by the results of the project (be it positively or negatively).

Szinergia’s complex project management methodology is summarized into a framework called “SZIN-tézis” (=synthesis). SZIN-tézis is Szinergia’s generic project management process model that has been compiled based on our experience and Hungarian and international project management literature. Basically, it reflects which project management elements apply in practice and how, and what we think are the steps to be followed in the case of specific project management tasks.

SZIN-tézis in its current form is fundamentally built on our client work experience and based on two fundamental works of project management literature: Guide to PMBOK 1996, 2000, 2004 (Project Management Body of Knowledge) and PRINCE 2 methodology.
